Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how GoCapturit (“we”, “us”) — a sole proprietorship operated by Valentine Huy in Ontario, Canada — collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our campus event photography marketplace (the “Platform”). We aim to collect only what we need to run the Platform.

2. Information we collect

• Account & profile: name, email, university, role, avatar, bio, and (for photographers) portfolio images, specializations, and rates.
• Bookings & messages: events you post or accept, booking details, and messages exchanged with the other party.
• Payment metadata: amounts, status, and Stripe identifiers. Full card numbers are handled by Stripe — we never see or store them.
• Technical: basic device/log information and cookies (see “Cookies” below).

3. How we use it

• to operate the Platform — accounts, matching, bookings, messaging, and payments;
• to send transactional email (booking updates, payment alerts) — you control these in Settings;
• to keep the Platform safe — moderation, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention;
• to comply with legal obligations.

4. Service providers (subprocessors)

We share personal information with vendors who process it on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage;
• Stripe (incl. Stripe Connect) — payment processing and photographer payouts;
• Resend — transactional email delivery;
• Vercel — application hosting and logs;
• Tally — the feedback/waitlist form embedded on our landing page.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar storage:

• Essential — authentication/session cookies that keep you signed in, and a theme preference (light/dark). The Platform doesn’t work without these.
• Consent — a flag that remembers you dismissed our cookie notice.
• Third-party — the Tally form on our landing page may set its own cookies when you interact with it.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, resolve disputes, and meet legal/accounting obligations (for example, payment records). When no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can update most details in your profile and Settings, and you can request account deletion. To make a request, email hello@gocapturit.com. Note that some records (such as payment history) may be retained where the law requires.

8. Security

We use access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
