How booking works, when money moves, and what happens when something goes sideways, for both sides of the marketplace.

05 questions01How does booking and payment work?
PostTell us your event’s date, type, and budget. It takes a minute. We match you with student photographers on your campus, ranked by fit, not at random.
BookPick your photographer and pay through Stripe when you confirm. No Venmo, no cash, no awkward money talk.
HoldYour payment doesn’t go to the photographer yet. We hold it until your photos are delivered. They shoot, they upload your gallery, you approve it, and only then is the money released.
02What if the photographer cancels or doesn’t show?
You get a full refund. Since payment is held until photos are delivered, your money never left the platform. If there’s time before your event, we’ll help you rebook with another matched photographer.
Photographers who cancel late or no-show face account suspension, so it stays rare.
03How are photographers vetted?
Every photographer is a university student and must upload a portfolio of at least 15 real photos, reviewed and approved before they appear in search, so you’re always judging actual work, not a promise. Confirmed members of university photography clubs carry extra credibility on their profile. After every completed booking, organizers leave a rating and review that stays on the profile.
You can also check each photographer’s campus, specializations, and availability calendar before you book.
04What if I’m not happy with the photos?
You see a watermarked preview of the full gallery before you approve anything, and payment is only released once you accept the delivery. If something’s wrong, raise it with the photographer first. Most issues are a re-edit away.
If you can’t resolve it together, open a dispute and our team reviews it and decides on a fair outcome, which can include a partial or full refund.
05What’s the refund policy?
If the photographer cancels or no-shows: full refund, always. Quality disputes after delivery are reviewed case by case through the dispute process, with partial or full refunds possible.

05 questions06How do I join? Is there an application?
You need to be a university student. Sign up free, build your profile, and upload at least 15 portfolio photos, which are reviewed and approved before you go live in search. No essays, no interviews. Your work is the application.
Part of a university photography club? Mention it on your profile. Once we confirm it, your profile gets extra credibility.
Add your specializations, hourly rate, and availability so the matching actually works for you.
07Do I need my own equipment?
You need a camera you can confidently shoot an event with. Organizers are paying for better than a phone. You do not need studio gear, lighting rigs, or a second shooter.
08When and how do I get paid?
The organizer pays the full amount when they book, so the money is already secured before you shoot. After you deliver the gallery and the organizer approves it, the payment is released to you through Stripe, straight to your bank account.
Real gigs, real money. No chasing invoices or Venmo requests.
09What does GoCapturit cost me?
Joining, listing your portfolio, and appearing in search are free. GoCapturit takes a 0% service fee on bookings for now, so you keep 100% of your rate. This is subject to change as the platform grows, and you’ll always see your exact payout before you accept a gig.
10What if I have to cancel a booking?
Life happens. Cancel as early as you can so the organizer can rebook, and their payment is refunded in full. Late cancellations and no-shows hurt organizers who counted on you, so repeated ones lead to account suspension.
