We’re Valentine and Estelle: sisters, students, and the two people behind GoCapturit.

If you’ve ever organized a student club event, you know the problem. You don’t have $500 for a corporate photographer, but blurry iPhone photos from an exec member ruin your club’s image and your Instagram feed. Finding student talent is just as hard, because campus photography runs on word of mouth. Organizers ask around blindly, and talented new photographers get locked out of gigs simply because they don’t have a referral network yet.

Estelle got tired of that exact headache at McGill and started a student club with friends: the Plumbers’ Photography Union. The idea was simple, connect student clubs with low budgets to student photographers who wanted to build their portfolios. We didn’t expect it to blow up the way it did. Running everything manually out of spreadsheets and group chats, the PPU booked over 80 events and put over $9,000 directly into student pockets in three semesters.

It proved two things. Campus clubs want affordable, reliable photography. Student photographers want consistent, fairly paid gigs that grow their portfolios. So we built GoCapturit to automate the whole process: a two-sided campus marketplace where organizers drop their event details and get matched with student photographers based on style, portfolio, and availability.

Two hard rules we build by. Clubs pay securely through the platform upfront, and photographers get paid automatically once the photos are delivered, so nobody chases anybody down weeks later. And rates stay grounded at the student tier, around $50 to $150 per event, so clubs can actually afford it and beginners can build their portfolios.

We’re rolling out campus by campus across North America, starting at McGill, where it all began. Every photo on this site is from a real event one of us shot.
